Thông minh nhất nam tử
Yêu vi thiên hạ kỳ (1)
(1) Một người con trai thông minh; nên làm người khác thường trong thiên hạ. Lấy từ câu thơ Đường Giới tiễn bạn đi Trường An:
Nam tử yêu vi thiên hạ kỳ.
The photo is simple, nothing fancy at all, and it doesn’t even show the face of the man sitting to protest ,alone, with his legs crisscrossed, on the tile square of Nguyen Hue Boulevard. Yet, even with only his back be seen and both of his arms raised up high holding a sheet of paper, his sitting figure touches me deeply inside.
Here it is, the spirit of the Vietnamese is still here! The spirit of Tran Quoc Toan who once smashed up an orange with one hand, the spirit of Pham Ngu Lao deeply in thoughts of solving national crisis that he did not notice his thigh was bleeding from a spear, the spirit of Tran Binh Trong “I’d rather be the ghost of Vietnam than be the king of China”, and the spirit of President Ngo Dinh Diem “I go forward, you go forward with me. I retreat backward, you kill me. I die, you continue my mission.”
That courageous, persistent, and full of inner peace. I am thankful, very thankful of him for reaffirming my faith, my will, and my energy. During the fight for a clean environment and a better future for Vietnam, sometimes I feel alone and disheartened among those who do not care much about environmental issues and those who are hired men from the government to carry out dirty , low-class tactics. Suddenly, the photo of THE MAN Huynh Ngoc Chenh sitting alone to protest appears right in front of my eyes as a calming voice to reaffirm with me: “The blood of the true Vietnamese is still here! The courageous spirit of the Vietnamese is still alive here! The gut, the substance of the Vietnamese is still here!
And my “gas tank” is full again! Thank you, THE VIETNAMESE MAN, Huynh Ngoc Chenh!
Tung Thai This photo alone has proven again that the 44th US president Barack Obama has been making another mistake in begging the Vietnamese communist government to sign the contract papers of becoming a part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
So what will be the use of Barack Obama traveling to Vietnam using US TAXPAYERS money before leaving the White House for good! ?
I’ve got news for Mr. Santayana: “we’re doomed to repeat the past no matter what. That’s what it is to be alive.”
